Mala did her schooling from H R College and Bachelor of Mass Media from Jai Hind College, Mumbai. She started her career with Elle Magazine (Ogaan Publications Private Limited) where she was working as an Associate Advertising Manager in 2006. After that, she joined Hindustan Times - Fever 104 FM as Senior Manager Advertising in 2012. In 2014, she joined Conde Nast India as an Associate Advertising Director and since 2017, she is associated with Gourmet Investments Private Limited as a Deputy General Manager (Events & Alliances).
