Sujata Paul Maliah is a social activist who feels that it is her duty to be concerned about her environs- be they, people, flora or fauna. A theatre personality with an experience of more than 25 years, she taught at Welham Girls School from the 90's to 2005 using unique and innovative methodology to teach subjects such as Chemistry, English and Computer Science. She has directed plays for many schools including WGS, WBS, RIMC and Ecole Globale.Having studied at CJM, Dehradun, St John’s College, Agra and Isabella Thoburn College, Lucknow, she has earned herself two post graduate degrees in Chemistry and English Literature, a B Ed degree with specialization, Advanced diploma in Computer Applications, she is presently studying law. She conducts workshops in the field of theatre, stress management, leadership skills, RTI, teaching methodology, legal literacy. She has been working with the administration in the field of waste management and tree plantation for many years. She is often seen as a panelist on live television shows, talking on various issues of women empowerment. She has written for national newspapers like Pioneer and Swatantra Bharat and has also written plays which have been publicly performed. The genre that she has been experimenting in for the last many years is the monologue which she feels is a great source of learning and empowerment as it gives space to her trainees to express themselves in totality. She has acted in a few serials, a short film and documentaries. She believes in working quietly and sincerely for anything and everything that concerns living beings so that man and nature can live in harmony.
